The name &#8220;Salcey&#8221; comes from the former Royal Hunting Forest (Salcey Forest) that sits beside the small Northamptonshire village of Hartwell.\u00a0 The company originally occupied a shed in the back garden of 12 Forest Road, Hartwell, and some of the existing workforce were still there in 1972 when Mr Howard Smart, the Proprietor, sold the business.<\/p>\n<p>Ken Parfitt, a qualified engineer from Towcester, entered into partnership with Tony Smith to expand the company\u2019s traditional business in the aerospace industry and the company was then renamed \u201cSalcey Precision Engineering Limited\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Tony Smith eventually left the business and\u00a0the company grew in size over the years to the point it had\u00a0three\u00a0Directors to help the ongoing development of the business.<\/p>\n<p>In 1983, the company moved to a purpose built factory on the outskirts of Hartwell\u00a0village at &#8216;Greenfields&#8217; and it now employs around 23 staff.\u00a0\u00a0It has a firm belief in\u00a0technological development and investment to keep ahead.\u00a0 By being quality led it to become the first company in Northamptonshire to achieve BS 5750 approval, now BS EN ISO9001 : 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Ken retired in 2006 and passed the reins onto\u00a0his son-in-law Richard Alcock who is the\u00a0current Managing Director.<\/p>\n<p>Salcey Precision Engineering now stands as one of the largest sub-contract engineering companies in the county, and is now heavily involved in the manufacture of components for the Motorsport\u00a0and Medical industry as well as\u00a0its traditional Aerospace work.<\/p>\n<p>Salcey Precision see&#8217;s its future in delivering\u00a0complex machined parts quickly for demanding customers who require\u00a0a high\u00a0standard\u00a0of\u00a0quality.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The origins of Salcey Precision Engineering can be traced back to\u00a0the Second World War when \u201cSalcey Jig and Tool\u201d was in existence.
